It might've slipped under our radar that previous sunny month (oops, forgive us, o' mighty speed dragon gods) as we were still busy exploring everything new the grand city of Stormwind had to offer - but now we are back once more spreading the word of appreciation in the name of this beautiful bronze dragon. Let's have an appropriately swift celebration, for Nozdormu Day is upon us!
Could You Hurry It Up, Please
If you wish to take part in Nozdormu Day, you're in luck because all players can do so for free (the card is part of the Core set):
- As long as you have one quest slot open come server reset in your region on the 15th of each month, the Nozdormu quest will replace your regular quest of the day. It grants a lot more bonus XP, making it a worthwhile pursuit!
- This quest can also be rerolled away for a typical lesser one, if you really can't stand it. But Nozdormu will be very sad.
- In order to be eligible, simply remove a card from one of your favorite decks and replace it with Nozdormu the Eternal.
- Queue up for a game with your 'new' deck, in a relevant game mode of choice.
- Hopefully encounter another player with Nozdormu in their deck and have fun playing speedstone!
We're recommending that you play decks that aren't reliant on long combos or multiple actions in general. Using minions with basic effects or casting simple spells will do you wonders with maximizing your 15-second turn time. Though, the better you are at adapting to the short periods of thinking, the more mileage you could get out of more 'complicated' decks. But there is still no getting around actual animation times.
You may want to pick the Casual mode to not only prevent any potential Ranked losses, but to also increase your chances of finding an opponent with Nozdormu the Eternal on the other side of the mirror. It's no fun without a suitable swift partner! Or you could join our cast of the brave and the reckless and keep trying your luck on the actual Standard or Wild ladder. Time efficiency and two birds with one stone - Noz would be proud.
Why is the 15th of Each Month Nozdormu Day?
The 15th of each month is Nozdormu Day because it is a reference to the 15 seconds that each player has to take their turn when Nozdormu is present in both decks.
It comes with the official PlayHearthstone's blessing.
Nozdormu Day Decks for September 2021
We've put together a few Standard decks that may be handy if you are trying to complete the quest while actually attempting to get ahead on ladder or elsewhere. But our dear Nozdormu the Eternal remains very flexible and will fit anywhere you want it to!
We've had this special Noz quest for bonus XP for a couple of months now. Do you keep taking part in either Casual or Ranked every 15th day of the month? Have any deck that is most suitable to be graced by Nozdormu the Eternal? Let us know in the comments if you have managed to queue into any fellow Nozdormu followers!

No luck for me either, but tbh I usually only play the three matches that the quest requires. I guess most people don't do the quest in Ranked (even faced a Dragon Hunter in Wild today but no Noz, missed opportunity).
I imagine most people just slot out a card they don't think they will need very much out out of their regular deck than slot back in afterwards
3 of 3 wins. 0 activations. Perfect score even if i would prefer if it happened. But really glad it's in the game.
One out of three opponents had Nozdormu, just like last time. I wonder why people ignore this quest.
Broke: Playing Nozdormu in Constructed
Woke: Playing Nozdormu in the All-Star Squad Tavern Brawl
I came here to say the same thing!
I actually won two of my three games. The first one was against a Demon Hunter with Consume Magic. They were teching against Pogo Rogue, and had no defense from a vanilla minion. The second game was a predictable loss to a Pogo Rogue. And the third… was my first-ever Nozdormu vs. Nozdormu match! Hilarious!
Haha, now that was Nozdormu multiplied alright.
Three games in casual vs. 3 other Noz decks and all were vs. QUESTlock..Very fun stuff! I went 2-1 with fun.
edited: Very cool write up, by the way........................._____,
Thanks, appreciated!
And going 3 for 3 with Noz on both sides is definitely pretty rare from my experience.
The only reason to play Standard for me.
Paladin worked well enough for me, 2-1 but no fellow Noz player sadly :(
Also Battleground Battlemaster is still OP at 6 mana imho. This should be an 8-Cost card.
I happened to queue into a Questline (!) Paladin on Standard ladder, on top of both our Nozdormus firing off. Two very unlikely events at once. Turns out the Hero Power "dudes" can become pretty annoying once they get all the buffs plus Lothraxion... but that takes a good while and luck.
Windfury effects continue to cause problems in the game, eh.
Nice! I really like the Paladin Questline and am hoping for some more support in Standard and/or the Wild meta to slow down enough to make it viable.
The one positive thing about Noz day is we dont get low roll dailies that might just prevent you from playing today.
Very true, wish we had more such special opportunities. Although over the course of this year I've adopted the posture of getting over my unwillingness and completing an odd 900 XP quest here and there if it's on a day when I'd really like to play/have lots of time for it or it's otherwise getting in the way. But still can't completely avoid not wanting to touch the game whenever this 'issue' comes up.
It gets better than that. For each low roll dailies you get a chance at a reroll to the top tier 1500xp quests of which cannot be done with the 1000xp quests, which is guaranteed to be a 900xp quest on reroll. So being able to reroll those 900xp quests is absolutely worth the trouble.
Of course, that assumes you're trying to maximize gains, because 100xp is about 2 games or about 30 mins, not an insignificant amount.
The best deck for me is Suicide Warlock. Took me like 3 minutes. I'm really not interested in this Nozdormu stuff but 600xp is 600xp
I did it in tavern brawl.
1 in my deck? Nah - 22!!!!!!!!!
Free wins for my opponents is my good deed for the day :P
Thanks for the idea, I did it this way too. :)
Here is my Nozdormu deck for wild. In it Noz actually is not just for decoration, he actually gets summoned onto board if you draw it
P.S. and if you do turn 3-4 combo you can even win against warlocks
