I don't see a reliable combo to pull of the 15 dmg. Unless they print some cheap duplication or mana reduction I don't think this can rise above meme level.

Maybe it's a bit too early to say it, but it seems to me that this will be crappy neutral epic of the set (Gurubashi Offering and Holomancer send their regards)

Too difficult the condition and too little the payoff. 

Hey, is it 5 for each one? Well, it's a lot better now, but still difficult to accomplish (Star Aligner has seen very little play and has a condition easier to achieve)

This looks like a great unique card that could encourage new play-styles. I like it.

Damn shame the Shaman spellstone just rotated out. I doubt this card will be incredibly powerful even in wild, but it seems like a fun meme card to tinker around with.

In Wild you have other supportive cards like Emperor Thaurissan and Meat Wagon, but in Standard its difficult to pull off. But Mage and Priest has possebilities too with Radient and Apprentice and their cheap copy spells. Interesting card, maybe the sleeper of the set?

Would the effect trigger even if two of the copies are silenced? Play the card and hope it doesn't die, then play Unsleeping Soul on it and drop another copy. Now you have 3 copies but two of it are silenced.

If it does work, will it still do 15 damage or just 5 from the unsilenced one?

Ok So I was looking at all the cards currently in the Standard Rotation as of date above to try and make this Desert Obelisk somewhat viable (if you wanna call it that.)

Out of 9 classes, 4 of which I found that could manipulate Desert Obelisk) on the field where there can be more than 3 or more by the end of turn and Note I am only going to talk about Standard rotation NOT WILD!!

Warlock: Warlock is the First class I saw a good amount of potential in terms of trying to make this meme of a card work!, On first thought a one turn scenario that is possible is Drawing out your deck and using Dollmaster Dorian and 2x Plot Twist while Desert Obelisk is in your hand for a total of 9 mana to get four 1/1 Desert Obelisk ) on the field for a total of 20 random damage. There is also the possibility of using Augmented Elekk with 2x Plot Twist to make more copies of Desert Obelisk to increase the Dollmaster Dorian Combo mentioned earlier, but that is very Convoluted situation and Clunky to pull off and started thinking of the other classes

Druid: Druid has a few Copy Manipulations in Standard thats possible to do, The easiest Combo I theorized is using Dreampetal Florist to reduce a copy of Gloop Sprayer to make him cost Zero, Then on turn 10 you could play 2x Desert Obelisk and the Zero cost Gloop Sprayer for a total of 4 copies of Desert Obelisk  It is also Plausible to use Jepetto Joybuzz to Draw either Gloop Sprayer or Desert Obelisk  to make that Combo Too!.

Rouge: Rouge has some very interesting ways to make this combo possible but the the one that I Theorized is using 1x of Togwaggle's Scheme (has to be in your hand for at least 6 turns!) on Desert Obelisk, The very Next turn (with the Assumption that you have no other minions in your deck and no other minions on the Field) Play Dollmaster Dorian into Myra's Unstable Element making 6 1/1 copies of Desert Obelisk on the field for total of 30 random damage towards the enemy.

Priest: Priest is the least likeliest way to get to the combo to work but I will explain it never the less. Priest has the most types of Duplication with cards like Power Word: Replicate, and Unsleeping Soul (which by the way I believe with Unsleeping Soul if there were 2 silenced copies of Desert Obelisk only 1 would trigger I believe)  they also have access to Zerek's Cloning Gallery and Spirit of the Dead. The way I would guess to make it work in this class would be to Manipulate Desert Obelisk costing 1 mana with Spirit of the Dead on the same field. You can get more copies in your deck that could with cards like Power Word: Replicate and Faceless Manipulator. Assuming you have 6+ copies of Desert Obelisk that cost 1 in your deck you could play Bwonsamdi, the Dead to fill your hand with 1 cost Desert Obelisk and the Next turn you would play all of them.

Now You could probablby utilize another combo in another class that I didn't list here but  It's Just that out of the 9 classes these were the 4 that I thought could Possibly be the Most Viable in terms of Combo potential for Desert Obelisk in the Standard Rotation. The card looks like more a Meme than a combo Option but You never Know what might happen in the Next few months!

I will try this in a quest rogue deck in wild, with 1/1 copy'ing + Conceal, it might be a meme-y TTK deck. :P

Ofc if i got them from packs, I don't think I will craft these. That's so meme-y even for me.

But Isn't this a card like Star Aligner and Naga Sea Witch which all think the card is garbage but breaks something in the game.

I'm sure some people will try to accomplish some broken stuff with this. Even I got my ideas.

Would be so cool if someone can pull it off. I like the idea. Finally something different. 

I like the design of the card. It is meant to be used as a puzzle to somehow make it playable. 
Don't get me wrong.  This is as bad as the Holomancer.  I just wish that this card was common or rare so it would be easier to experiment with.  Making it rare would only make people salty if they can get it (when they would get something that is playable and useful). Of course, we only seen a small portion of the set.  There might be something that could make this better (or something much worse than this card).  

The 5-drop summon pool just got nuked!  Most if not all of the 0-attack minions in the game are meme level.  I hope we get some 0-attack synergy cards to make them all a little easier to work with.  It could even be in Quest form.  Does anyone else find it a little suspicious that structures are starting to find their way into the game now.  Blackhowl Gunspire was in Witchwood for example.  Could we finally be getting the 'Structure' Tag in an upcoming expansion that so many people have done in card creations?

Trying to think of ways to abuse this card with loads of copy effects my best idea was to use it with Carnivorous Cube and Deathrattle triggers like Play Dead in Hunter.  Stitched Tracker is also a great card for finding combo pieces and Ursatron can be used as a Meat Wagon tutor.

Maybe some kind of Priest deck with Lady in White could be an option as well.  Priest does have access to some pretty cheap cloning effects like Mirage Caller and Vivid Nightmare and Lady in White can make the Obelisk a 5/5 so it's not entirely useless on its own.

In wild there will sure be many meme decks with this card. Many classes can copy and/or cheat this minion. I would also mention Druid. Aviana, Floop, Gloop Sprayer, etc.

If you're already doing an Aviana combo just use Ragnaros the Firelord.

So if you manage to get 3 of these things, it deals 5x3 damage?   Seems like Rogue could pull this off, maybe Priest. 

Weird, weird card. If you somehow manage to pull off the effect and make those 3 copies stick on the board, it could wreak havoc for your opponent. The only card I can see that could easily make copies of this would be Gloop Sprayer and Togwaggle's Scheme, but why would you want that? Because of this, it just looks like a meme card, though there's potential to be broken once someone finds a reliable combo.

The potential of the card seems weak, both for Standard and Wild (since the reward is pretty weak), but I like that finally they're trying to print something innovative that can open to new playstyle and mechanics.

Looks like a meme-tier combo to be honest. What bugs me is that many of us are going to open it in our packs...

Also generating this from random effects is gonna feel real bad...

I'll definitely open at least four of this. One for every epic card I'd want to have instead. 

I don't think this card is going to see much play, but you could make it work in Paladin deck with the new hero power and I'm half expecting them to get a card that gives reborn to minions. You never know :)

I think any class can do this in 2 turns, say on turn 9 play one, then on turn 10 (if it survived) clone them using the copy guys. 

Mage can first make them cost 1 mana with galaxy, then play 2 of them in one turn and copy both giving 4 on board for 20 random damage. However, I think with galaxy spell the staraligner combo is much easier to pull off for mage using ping, mountain giants conjuring etc. (I have a deck for that and it triggers more than I expected).

I am wondering if the not being a battlecry but end-of-turn effect makes it easier to achieve?

Nah, I don't think this would create a new Star Aligner druid simply because the damage is dealt to a random target. You might have 3 of those and a Drakkari Enchanter on the board, but unless the opponent's board is empty (somehow), the win is not guaranteed. That said, I would like to try this card out. I don't know what kind of deck I would play - Glinda Crowskin/Plot Twist warlock, Cube hunter (btw gratz for the creativity, guys) - but I would certainly try one of those combos, if I acquire both copies from packs.

Also, I adore the idea of having obelisks in hs. If you think about it, those add to the fantasy of the game. Because suddenly you don't force minions to kill the enemies, you build structures in a desert, which become active once they form a geometric shape (a triangle, square, pentagon....), and then a Drakkari Enchanter fulfills some kind of an ancient ritual and enhances their power even further.

This gives me an "oblisk of light" vibe from command and conquer. Am i the only one?

It's a super cool design. I don't know how to make it work in a viable deck in standard, but I'm so down if someone finds a way.

It doesn't fit the theme of the set? I expect exactly 0 mechs from a League of Explorers expansion.

Warlock, Warrior and Paladin already have new ways to clone minions which makes it much easier to get the combo. I would not be surprised if every class gets a card to clone something, except maybe mage since that would allow exodia style infinite OTK, or even more ragnarosses with a duplicated Khadgar etc. I have a deck that tries to get a 1 mana Faceless Manipulator or 1 mana Jan'alai to clone khadgar and then play Jan'alai to get 4 Ragnarossals for 32 random damage :). Playing that combo always makes my day. "Die insect!" x4. Love it.
