Welcome, fellow achievement hunter.
Ever since the introduction of the rewards track, each expansion has always brought us a handful of achievements to complete in order to gain more rewards: while some of them are relatively easy to complete, some others may take some time or a proper set up. In case you're wondering what's the best way to gain all that sweet sweet XP locked behind Fractured in Alterac Valley's achievements, do not fret, as we have the answer you're looking for!
In this guide we'll focus our attention on the Alterac Valley Paladin achievements (here's the full list of all the Alterac gameplay achievements) and provide at least one way to complete each of them so that you'll be able to get closer to the end of your reward track.
Disclaimer: as always, all expansion achievements can be completed in Ranked Standard, Ranked Wild, Arena, Casual & Heroic Duels and Classic - Casual Standard, Casual Wild and Tavern Brawl will not count towards your hunt! Moreover, we'll always take Ranked Standard as the default game format for our strategies: if we happen to have some strategies or particular interactions belonging to other modes to highlight, we'll be sure to specify it.
In case you're still deep in your achievement hunt, worry not: we prepared a guide for each class (and neutrals!) for you to take inspiration from, so that you'll be able to complete them in no time for those sweet sweet XP points.

Alterac Paladin Achievements Overview
Definitely not the easiest set around: a lot of grind awaits us in the frozen crevices here in Alterac. You Are Not Worthy at least asks you to play Paladin's best card of the set, so we can pretty much concentrate out hatred towards whoever came up with Bold and Brass.
Edit: updated with the Onyxia's Lair Mini-Set "The One Ring" achievement.
How to Complete the "Bold and Brass" Paladin Achievement
Requirement: Restore 150 Health with Brasswing.
Speed Rating: 1/5.
If this achievement were to state "Restore 150 Health with Brasswing's Honorable Kill", we would've probably given it a speed rating of 7/5, but luckily for us there are ways to slightly speed things up. In fact, Lifesteal effects count too, and Alterac Valley brought Paladin Hold the Bridge, which is exactly what we're going to use to increase this achievement's completion pace.
For this occasion, we're going to use quite the farming strategy: we're going to take the best parts of Big Paladin, Buff Paladin and Menagerie Paladin and mix them together. Here's what we're going to do.
- Keep Redscale Dragontamer in the mulligan (or look for it) and play it on turn 2.
- Dragontamer will always draw Brasswing.
- We can use Vitality surge to draw either Brasswing or Redscale Dragontamer, which will eventually draw the former.
- Equip and swing Cavalry Horn once.
- If your only minion(s) in your hand is Brasswing, break Cavalry Horn and summon it.
Now that we've got our Brasswing on board, we've got to come up with ways to gain a bunch of health back. Here are a couple tips that will help you achieving your goal:
- Before breaking Cavalry Horn, make sure to have a Gift of Luminance in hand: not only it will provide Divine Shield to your Brasswing, but it will also summon an additional copy of it, and therefore you'll double up the end-of-turn Consecration effect, and with it the chances of getting an Honorable Kill.
- Lifesteal gains come from both minion attacks and effects: this means that, if you manage to land a Hold the Bridge on Brasswing, its end-of-turn 2 mana AoE will have Lifesteal on top of the potential Honorable Kill!
- Wild format note: Lightforged Blessing covers the same role of Hold the Bridge.
How to Complete the "Not Maroon. Not Crimson. Scarlet." Paladin Achievement
Requirement: Deal 25 damage with Saidan the Scarlet in one attack.
Speed Rating: 4/5.
It will probably take you more than a couple tries to get there, but we're still talking about an achievement that you can start and complete in a single turn, so let's not let us get intimidated by the numbers. In fact, if you do the math, you'll notice that such feat is relatively easy to accomplish. Since Saidan the Scarlet duplicates both on-board and off-board buffs directed to it, it means that you'll just have to provide it 13 Attack points or 'natural' buff, and its effect will provide the rest.
25 - 2 (Saidan's Attack) = 23 23 : 2 = 11,5 rounded up to 12.
Paladin has a very good tool that helps you in your plan: Blessing of Authority, which is basically 16/16 all by itself. 12 - 8 = 4, which we're going to provide with either handbuffs (Alliance Bannerman, Prismatic Jewel Kit) or other board buffs (Hand of A'dal, Hold the Bridge). Here's a quick reminder of all the steps you should follow in order to complete Not Maroon. Not Crimson. Scarlet.
- Land 4 handbuffs on Saidan the Scarlet: Alliance Bannerman and Prismatic Jewel Kit are the quickest and most effective methods.
- Alternatively, you can handbuff it just twice, but then you'll have to cast Hand of A'dal on it.
- If you handbuff it only 3 times, Noble Mount will compensate.
- On turn 10, play Saidan the Scarlet, which will be a 3 mana 10/10.
- Cast Blessing of Authority on Saidan, turning it into a 26/26.
- Trade Saidan into a non-Divine Shield enemy minion.
- Done!
- Cariel Roame may help you speed up the process by one turn or two, but we didn't include it since we want to stay as budget friendly as possible - if you own it, feel free to include it in your deck!
- Remember that you have to deal damage in order to complete this achievement: if you trade Saidan the Scarlet into a Divine Shield minion, it will deal 0 damage, and all your hard work will be in vain!
How to Complete the "You Are Not Worthy" Paladin Achievement
Requirement: Prevent 100/200/300 damage with The Immovable Object.
Speed Rating: 2/5.
Disclaimer: the achievement is currently bugged, and won't count the progress you'll obtain. You can still take a look at the guide, but hold your horses and concentrate on other achievements for the time being. The achievement is now completable.
Grindy, yes, but this is the most "meta" achievement Paladin received this time around: Lightforged Cariel is part of every single class deck, and You Are Not Worthy asks you to do what you already want to accomplish - abuse The Immovable Object's effect to not die. As I love saying, dying is bad in Hearthstone (and in every other occurrence, really), so we may as well second the achievement and act like a tank.
We're going to provide a Libram Paladin deck, which is currently Uther's best archetype across ladder, but we could cut down this guide's paragraph in a single sentence: play Paladin.
- The Immovable Object doesn't lose Durability, so trade with your face as much as you want!
- Wild format note: if people love ruining your hunt, you may want to consider adding a Hoard Pillager to your deck for a second The Immovable Object in case someone breaks it.
How to Complete the "The One Ring" Paladin Achievement
Requirement: Give +1/+1 with Ring of Courage 25/75 times.
Speed Rating: 3/5
Although it's not particularly difficult to complete, there's a slow and a grindy way to get The One Ring done. The first one consists in including two copies of Ring of Courage in your Libram Paladin and jam some ladder: combining Ring with Blademaster Samuro is going to feel nutty.
The grindy way involves many achievements' absolute MVP: Mad Summoner. For the price of completely giving up your chances to win, this unit will grant 8 progression points for every time you'll cast Ring of Courage, meaning that you'll have to play the spells just 10 times for the grind to be over.
- To be completely honest, this is probably one of the easiest achievements of the entire mini-set: if your collection is short or you're low on dust, consider including Ring of Courage in every single Paladin deck you play, and you'll get you XP in less than you think.
