[Updated on September 20]
This week, we got the return of a very special kind of Tavern Brawl. Instead of the usual free entry and celebratory pack, the stakes have been raised to the maximum. Before going into the successful decks and strategies players have come up with so far, we'll give you an overview of the mode's reward system.
Be sure to check back later during the weekend, as we plan on adding more decks over the course of the Brawliseum's duration! And even if you don't plan to attempt this gambling feat yourself, the following decklists should also double up as a compilation of strong options that can serve as an inspiration for any Wild ladder climbing.
How a Heroic Brawliseum Works
Do you dare to enter?
Gameplay-wise, it's a mix of the Arena and Constructed. 12 wins or 3 losses means the end of the run just like in Arena (or Duels). The format covers the entire current pool of Wild cards, along with the specific bans unique to that game mode. After the entry fee of 1000 Gold (or Runestones) is paid, a proper Deck can be put together as based on your existing card collection. Once locked in, the submitted list cannot be changed during the run.
Heroic Brawliseum Rewards - Should You Play?
The risk versus reward factor is indeed a sight to behold. A 5-win-run lets you spend your 1000 (insert currency of choice) about as efficiently as buying 10 packs, while anything below that can at least retroactively be considered "a poorly chosen investment". For comparison: A 0-3 Arena run leaves you with ~50 gold down the drain. In a Heroic Brawliseum that cranks up close to 900! On the other hand, one can't ignore the immense gap between the 11 and 12 wins rewards.
Unfortunately, the average player has very low odds of reaching the 12-win-jackpot. Though early wins may come easy, competition only gets tougher as the run progresses. Especially now that the Mini-Set for Murder at Castle Nathria isn't all that distant anymore, players need to plan their budget accordingly. If you consider yourself skilful at/knowledgeable about Wild Hearthstone, and have the funds to spare, here's a variety of decks from the community that proved to make that 12 win dream a reality.

I skipped the Brawl, but I've been running that Even Totem Shaman list up the ladder since this article posted.
It took me from Bronze to Platinum in just a few days. I don't have a win-rate tracker, but it was a fast climb for sure. And I don't even have Gigantotem as a top end.
Nice going! And good to hear about its ladder viability, even minus a crucial Epic.
I'll pass thanks 🙃 I know my skill level will result in me loosing gold, regardless of what deck I pick 😅
As a Wild-only player, I'd like this brawl to become a regular game mode. Would also be nice to have it for Standard and Classic though.
The only significant thing this brawl brought up is to take away that one free pack per week away from us. And at a time where we're supposed to be saving for the midset too. As though as any self-respecting individual would actually blow 1000 gold or godforbid, real money runestones, on a game, which incidentally requires wild cards as well.
There's no reason why they couldn't just do a normal brawliseum with the usual free first ticket, or just scrap heroic brawliseum altogether because it seems to only ever appeal to players who dont need the rewards anyway.
Oh well, the sooner the next brawl comes along the better.
Never play this tavern brawl unless you spend real money on this game. Its 99% of the time not worth it. Just a heads-up
Strongly disagree. I've got 10-3, 9-3, 8-3, and 12-1. Definitely worth playing for experienced players.
Why downvoting? I play HS since its Beta, get Legend in Wild each season, and play lots of Duels. I also constantly watch Wild and Duels streamers. I understand the meta, and how Wild cards interact. This brawl means only more rewards to me and to players like me.
If Wild is not your format, then definitely don't play this Brawl.
Downvoting is a curious function - shouldn't technically be used just for disagreeing and having different opinions, and yet you cannot stop anyone from going there (unfortunately). So I wouldn't pay much mind to it in such cases; Brawliseums don't enjoy a great reputation besides.
I didn't feel like gambling on it personally since Wild isn't my "home", but it's nice to hear it's been working out for somebody. If you felt like posting your 12-win deck on the site, we'd be happy to feature it here!
It was that Even Totem Shaman from the list, all four times. Feels quite strong overall, but slow starts vs control Priests and Warlocks mean loses.
Ah, interesting. I never quite think "top tier" when looking at the totems and Shaman. I suppose after all these years there might be enough of a critical mass in Wild.
Also, don’t play it if you do spend real money on the game. There are much better things to spend tha money on.
